The Story of Nostalgia

For over 50 years, Nostalgia has been a landmark in the field of vintage jewelry and antiques in Bologna, Italy.

Founded in 1968 by Margherita Rascelli in the heart of Bologna, on Strada Maggiore, the business began with the sale of vintage lace and embroidery, including centrepieces, tablecloths, and curtains of fine craftsmanship. Later, Margherita expanded the range with antique garments and 19th-century handbags decorated in silver, followed by a selection of signed antique costume jewelry.

With the arrival of her husband Giorgio Roversi, Nostalgia enriched its offering with Suprematist and Futurist paintings from Eastern Europe, dating back to the early decades of the 20th century. Over the years, the business evolved further, expanding its assortment to include vintage gold and diamond jewelry, which has become the beating heart of the boutique.

At Nostalgia, innovation has always gone hand in hand with tradition, allowing the boutique to preserve a timeless style and an enduring aesthetic. Giorgio and Margherita’s passion gave life to a business deeply rooted in Bologna, yet one that has attracted an international clientele.

Today, grandchildren Riccardo and Michelangelo, heirs to their grandparents’ passion and expertise, lead the business with a modern vision. While remaining faithful to tradition, they have introduced innovations that have allowed Nostalgia to expand into international markets, thanks to their presence on social media and their command of foreign languages.

The launch of a new e-commerce store has made it possible to reach new audiences and further expand the clientele. Nostalgia continues to enhance the value of historic Italian excellence, combining tradition and innovation while looking toward future growth with full respect for its roots.
