Antique English Gold Ring with Engraved Carnelian

Sold Out

Antique Masonic signet ring handcrafted in 9Kt gold (375‰), dating to circa 1900, at the end of the Victorian era. The inside of the band bears the original English hallmarks, including the 375 gold fineness mark and the Chester hallmark, represented by three wheat sheaves and a sword, the historic symbol of the Chester Assay Office. The ring is set with an engraved carnelian featuring the Masonic Square and Compasses, one of the most iconic symbols of Freemasonry. Carnelian was widely used in Victorian jewelry and particularly valued for its hardness and its ability to retain fine, precise engravings. Masonic signet rings of this kind were traditionally worn by members of Masonic lodges and could also be used as personal seals for making impressions in sealing wax. A fascinating antique English jewel of significant historical character, ideal for collectors of antique jewelry, Masonic memorabilia and antiques, or for those wishing to wear an authentic English Masonic ring from the turn of the 20th century.
